Destination Wedding in a Palace: from Switzerland to Madrid

As a destination wedding photographer, there are few things more exciting than being asked to capture a destination wedding in another country, like Spain. I love being a photographer for weddings in Switzerland, but I love to seize the opportunity to travel to a new place, immerse oneself in a different culture, and capture the joy and beauty of a couple's special day is truly a privilege. And when that destination wedding involves a church and a palace, well, you know it's going to be a breathtaking event. This couple didn't want the strict getting ready pictures, at all, so I at least managed to take some pictures of the groom with his friends while he was waiting at the bar from the Melia hotel, before the wedding started.

A church wedding is a classic choice for couples who want to exchange their vows in a sacred, spiritual space. Churches often have stunning architecture, soaring ceilings, and beautiful stained-glass windows that make for a perfect backdrop for wedding photographs. In this case, the church was inspired by traditional bizantine churches, with a clear visigoth influence that we can appreciate on the lamps. As a wedding photographer, it's important to be respectful of the church's rules and guidelines when it comes to photography. Some churches may only allow photography during certain parts of the ceremony, while others may have restrictions on the use of flash or tripods, and this was the case: I could not stay in some places near the apse, which made it unable to shoot an entrance, and some parts of the mass where challenging to portray with the restrictions. But even with these restrictions, there are plenty of opportunities to capture beautiful moments during the ceremony, such as the couple's first kiss, the exchange of rings, and the first look, that they did right before they got inside of the church for these reasons.

After the ceremony, it's time to head to the palace for the reception. A palace wedding is the epitome of luxury and elegance, and it's the perfect setting for couples who want to feel like royalty on their special day. The beautiful gardens and terrace, the stairs, and the rooms where the perfect location for stunning wedding photographs. As a wedding photographer, it's important to capture not only the beauty of the palace itself, but also the emotion and joy of the couple and their guests. Candid shots of guests mingling, dancing, and enjoying themselves, and the beautiful decorations for this special occasion always help to tell the story of the day. The party from this wedding was absolutely joyful and special, opened by the couple's wedding dance, and I really recommend to take a look at it, I promise you will feel their happiness and the vibe of the celebration.

As a wedding photographer, it's an honor to be entrusted with capturing the beauty and joy of such a special day. By being prepared, creative, and flexible, you can create a collection of images that will transport the couple and their loved ones back to that magical day every time they look at them. I hope that you like them too!
